Hilary has enjoyed a diverse portfolio career, combining her core profession as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) with academic and charity administration roles.
Having gathered a fair amount of committee (trustee experience) e.g locally in wildlife conservation, she is now Chair of a Foundation Trust which will fund research into developmental language disorders. Other trustee roles have included member of the Board of both the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Association of SLTs in Independent Practice (also serving as Chair), as well as working extensively as an expert witness within the civil courts and educational tribunal systems.
Recently retired after 15 years lecturing at the University of Sheffield, Hilary retains an honorary position. Hilary and her family have lived in Knaresborough for 20+ years and she has been an active member of the community always taking a keen interest in local issues and developments.
