David has lived in Knaresborough for 27 years. David has extensive sales and marketing experience in the IT industry. 

He has been a District Councillor for Knaresborough and Town Councillor and was recently elected to North Yorkshire County Council. As former Mayor of Knaresborough, he led the Neighbourhood Development Plan as well as making changes to make the Town Council operate more efficiently and developing initiatives to provide greater support for voluntary sector groups.

David serves on the Market Review and the Air Pollution Working Groups, as well as being Chair of Governors at a local Primary School.
